On Wednesday, July 11, the Band will close its 2011 Edinboro series by presenting a theme suggested by the Advisory Board of the Band. The Board made up of members of the Band and interested supporters selected the music to be played. The concert title will be “The Musicians Would Like You to Hear…” Dr. Daniel Burdick of the Edinboro University music faculty will be the euphonium soloist. John Williams will be the featured composer with two of his exciting motion picture scores, Jurassic Park and Star Wars. Classical music will be represented by “Light Cavalry Overture” by Franz von Suppe. There will be a surprising and fun composition from the pen of Dmitri Shostakovich. Among the march composers to be presented will be Kenneth J. Alford, Karl King and John Philip Sousa.
